Summary

MetroMap.me is a free Shanghai Metro route planning tool. Privacy is a core principle of this product — we require no account, no device permissions, use no cookies, and share no data with third-party advertisers.

What we collect

1. Anonymous usage analytics (Vercel Analytics)

We use Vercel Analytics to measure page views and visit volumes to improve the product. By default this service uses no cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. IP addresses may be briefly processed to compute visitor metrics but are not permanently stored linked to your session. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.

2. Browser local storage (localStorage)

The following data is stored only on your device and never uploaded to our servers:

• Search history (recently queried stations)
• Saved routes
• Accessibility mode toggle
• Language preference

You can clear this at any time via your browser's "Clear site data" option.

3. Offline cache (Service Worker)

To support offline route planning, a Service Worker caches map data and page resources on your device. This cache never leaves your device.

What we don't do

• We don't require account signup
• We don't use cookies for tracking
• We don't request location, contacts, photos, or other device permissions
• We don't sell or share data with ad networks or data brokers
• We don't transfer personal data to third parties

Your rights

Since we store no personally identifiable information about you, there is no "delete account" button. To clear all local data, clear the site's localStorage and cache in your browser.

Minors

MetroMap is a public-transit information tool suitable for all ages. We do not collect additional information about minors.

Policy updates

If this policy materially changes, we will notify users on the homepage. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
